Welcome baby Makenna! (Feb. 2014)

The night before Makenna was born I stayed up late getting at much as done as I could. Got the house pretty clean except the laundry. I knew it was my last chance per say. I was hoping it wouldn't jump start my labor too much. When I got to the hospital at 7:30 in the morning I was dilated to 6 cm. We got fluids and an Epidural at about 10:30-11 am. (By Dr. Karl Koerper.) (Josh told me that I did a good job of making it very clear what I wanted like an Epidural and also be very nice about it. That was a sweet compliment.) Then my midwife broke my water at 12ish. I just knew she was going to come so fast because all of my kids did! But she didn't. At about 3:30 they decided to roll me on my side to see if that would help things along and it did. At about 4:30 I was ready to push, they called in the Midwife and I had to wait just a minute for her because she was finishing up another delivery. After my first contraction/pushing I was apologizing to everyone and to Kathy Autry that she was not out yet. They kind of laughed and told me just to relax and it's okay. Makenna's head came out on the second push/contraction and the rest of her body on the third contraction/push. She is beautiful! She was born at 4:40pm and was 6 lb 12oz? on February 28th, 2014 with lots of dark hair. (02/28/14) She struggled with her breathing for the first few minutes and they were calling in for back up and as soon as the nursery nurses got there she was doing much better but it was a little bit tense for a few minutes. They also gave her a shot of vitamin K (which they give all babies) and were like, "Okay did she react, cry... something?" But they said not she did not really change her breathing. I'm so grateful that improved on her own! We also had to stay in the hospital for the full amount of days (3) because her billiruben was high/borderline high. We had to put her in a billiblanket and then after we were released we had to do the blanket at home for another 1.5 days and then she was doing better. She was also a slow eater so we started pumping and gave her bottles of breast milk which was tough to get her to finish but after 3 weeks of frequent appointments she was finally on track with her weight. We are so happy to have her!! We love you baby Makenna! Welcome to your family!

Ready to pop?! (Feb 2014)

So I did encounter bedrest right at the end of this pregnancy. Only for about 2 weeks so really not too bad. Around 34.5 weeks I went in and was complaining of more contracting then usual and pain behind my knee. She sent me to the hospital for the night and I was super sad thinking I might be spending a few days/weeks away from my kids. She was worried about blood clots which are more common during pregnancy and can be life threatening. She also wanted to make sure I was very well hydrated and put me on (Procardia?) to help me relax my uterus. (I was already dialated to a 3.5 cm at this point.) It did help relax my contractions but it can only be taken for a week so it is a temporary solution. Also luckily my blood clots were superficial so not need to worry just painful.  I went home the next morning.
So the Monday before sister was born I went in for an appointment and I told my Midwife, Kathy Autry, I was worried about going early (36 weeks at this point and 4 cm dialated) And she said if I could make it Friday (37 Weeks) then to just go and meet her at the hospital. She didn't think I would make it til then but I did. (Rest of the Story in the next post!)

Everyone else wanted to get in on the pictures too.

Fun with dad (Feb. 2014)

One of our favorite thing to do with dad is wrestle. Troy especially loves it, he often says, "Dad lets wrestle!" Everyone loves to get in on the action! And I like to watch since I am super pregnant. Love these cute kids! Love that dad loves to wrestle too!

Hailey turns 7! (Feb 2014)

Hailey turned seven on February 14th.  Since i was on bed rest I didn't want to plan anything huge so i told her to pick a friend that she would like to go to the movies with.  She picked her 1st grade BFF Isabella Amundson.  She of course wanted to go see frozen which was luckily still in theaters (although we did miss the sing-a-long version by one day) and we had a little surprise dinner and cupcakes when she got home from the movies.  She was surprised!  I think her birthday was pretty special!

Our Hailey girl is caring, loving, silly, responsible, and fun!  She is loving 1st grade and is doing great.  We cannot believe how old/big she is getting!  Everyone that sees Hailey says she is a mini me,  we do look very much alike!  We love you Hailey!! Happy Birthday!

Pregnant post for new baby sister

I wanted to do a pregnancy post for the new baby because most of these pictures I posted in 2013 but since she is born in 2014 that is when I will start getting her her own blog book. This pregnancy has been fairly similar to my others. Some of the things I have been craving a lot are Pastrami and Swiss sandwiches with mustard and extra tomatoes from corner deli, Chocolate, Vanilla milk, and Black licorice (aka good and plenties). I haven't retained a bunch of water like I did with Alyssa (I was so swollen everywhere especially my legs and ankles.) So me weight gain has been more "normal." I have had to do the P17 injections this time, just like last time. I'm currently 36 weeks as of tomorrow. (Yeah!) I've been on bed rest for 2.5 week but I will probably start doing a little more now. I am dialated to 3 cm and 80% effaced and have been for 2 weeks. I have received steroid injections for her lungs at 33 weeks and the next week was hospitalized overnight for too many contractions along with another cm dialated and a blood clot in my leg but it turned out to be superficial. (Which is not worrisome just painful!) Thank heavens! One of my bigger trials this time around is very painful and unsightly spider veins. I feel very grateful to have made it to this point and we are hoping for 1 more week at least. Can't wait to meet this new little person, and all the kids can't wait to see her and play with her. Hailey thinks we should name her Cristle, Troy likes the name_____(can't remember right now), and Alyssa likes Rockabye. Although the girls also agree the Elsa is a good name as well!
                                                       15  weeks?
                                                                 20 weeks- Its' a girl!!

                                                                        27 weeks
                                                                    30 weeks
                                                                      32 weeks?
                                                                    35 weeks

Update on Hailey

I'm going to do a more thorough post on Hailey with a birthday post but these are some of Hailey's cute notes/ pictures she has been working lately. We think it is so sweet the things she comes up with to write or draw. We love you too sweet Hailey!!  (She wants to name the new baby Cristle)

Update on Troy

Troy is very passionate. The last couple months of last year he got into a phase where he didn't want to really go anywhere or do anything. I had to start begging/bribing (sometimes sticker charts and treats) to get him to go to Swim lessons, Gymnastics, school, and church. We agree that he is very very much a home body. We since then have taken him out of all extra activities and we still of course do school and church and his attitude has improved. He very passionate about many things like he has been really wanting his birthday to come and will kick and scream pretty angrily, "why cant it come?" And there's obviously not much we can do to help him out with his problem. Troy loves to collect and tape together recyclables and is often stashing it down in his room. He also loves to have projects to work on, whether he is cutting, gluing, coloring, taping or all of the above, he will work on his things for a really long time! Troy also Loves to wrestle with Daddy and will ask him almost every night when he gets home if they can wrestle. Just the other day we had some unusually warm weather, like 80 degrees, and he said, "I love this time of year." Another time Hailey was talking about a bully at school and Troy told her, "Next time Hailey, just say Stop!" And he put his hand up to show her how to put up her hand, signaling to stop. He is full of cute things and I love hearing his ideas! He is pretty good about getting his own snacks, sometimes not in a good way climbing up to the top of the pantry or finding someone's candy stash and sneaking it off! We love our Troy boy!!
