Easter
Easter Sunday is always a great day to spend with family. We had some of my family over for lunch and then we headed over to the hakes for dinner. We had an egg hunt at both places! (This year we decided to try to do more meaningful Easter type of things that would help the kids think about Easter for what it really is and focus on Jesus in a memorable way for little kids. So I worked off some posts from pinterest and they were the best ever! Most of them focused on one verse in the scriptures that was easy to follow and had something hands on for them to do. We recreated the Storm that surrounded Jesus' boat and tried to instantly make it stop, we blind folded the kids and let them walk around to see what it was like to be "Blind" and then talked about Jesus healing the blind man, Had the kids break and share a tiny Swedish fish and a cracker and ask them if they were full (talked about Jesus feeding the multitude), we also made Resurrection rolls. You take a large marshmallow (represents Jesus body) roll in butter and then roll in cinnamon sugar (cleansing the body and I think putting spices and herbs, I cant remember something like that) Then you roll them up in a crescent roll (the tomb) and bake and when the rolls come out they are hallow, the tomb is empty. I'm probably forgetting something but we had a lot of fun with these activities and my kids talked and talked about Jesus so much. Very sweet and it definitely brought it to there level! We'll be doing it again next year! Love Easter!
