We got the FLU!

We got the flu, yeah, you know the flu you get vaccined against every year, which yes we did all recieve. It started with Alyssa, then Troy and lastly Hailey. We got what is called "Flu A" It is different then the flu you may be thinking of. There is no vomiting involved but it does invovle a very high fever for many days and lathgick sad kids for many days. My poor kiddos! At least they took turns so I could just focuse on the sick one! Since Alyssa got it the Doctor persribed a medicine that could be taken if you had it or if you were exposed to is. So she wrote one up for each of my kids. Come to find out each one was over $100 even with our insurance. So we decided to just get them as we needed but that turned out to be a be mistake because we could have avoided the others being sick all together if we had started them on the medicine right away. The other sad thing that happen with this was Troy was taking a nap with josh under thick blankets and after a bit Josh was yelling for me to come and I came in to find him with his eyes rolled back in his head and his body wierdly twitching. Super scary. We quick checked his temp and it was 106.?? Who can remember the rest just that 106 is crazy freakish high. He was having a ferviabal seasure. We called 911 but I was not calm enough to talk to them so Josh took over, I ran him over to the neighbors house as they are pedatric nurses but they were not home. Luckily having him out in the cool breeze was probably the best thing I could have done for him. He started to come around and the firemen showed up to check him out. He was down to 103 by the time they got there and so we decided to stay on top of the Tylnol/Ibprophen and never miss to keep them over lapping eachother and keep a VERY close eye on him at home. WE didn't have anymore porblems but that was very scary! Really hope we don't ever get the flu again!
